Your care stays close.
Rufe is built to work without an account. The care records you create in the app stay on your device unless you choose to export or share them. This notice also explains the separate information collected when you join the Rufe early-access list.
Care records in the app
Profiles, weights, care plans, food plans, journal entries, veterinary contacts and the documents or photos you add are stored locally on your device. Rufe does not require an account to use these features and does not upload this care data to Rufe servers.
Photos, documents and notifications
Rufe asks for access only when a feature needs it. Photo access lets you choose a guinea-pig profile photo; document access lets you attach a file you select; and notification permission lets Rufe deliver the reminders you enable. These permissions can be changed in your device settings.
Exports and sharing
Veterinary reports and data exports are created from records on your device. They leave Rufe only when you use the system share controls or save them somewhere you choose. The privacy practices of the receiving app or service then apply to that copy.
Optional account features
If account sign-in is available and you choose to use it, Rufe may process the account identifier and session information needed to sign you in through the selected provider and Supabase. Linking an account does not upload your local care records. You can continue to use Rufe without an account.
Analytics, advertising and tracking
The public Rufe website uses PostHog's EU service to measure page views and whether visitors begin or complete the early-access flow. It may record the page section used, campaign parameters, the version of the offer shown and the beta or launch preference selected. Session recording and automatic interaction capture are disabled, and your email address is not sent to PostHog. The Rufe app does not include advertising trackers. Rufe does not sell personal information or care records, use care records for advertising or build an advertising profile from them.
Your controls
You can edit individual records inside Rufe, export a copy of your local data or remove Rufe's care data from the device in Settings. Removing the app may also remove locally stored data according to your device's behaviour, so export anything you want to keep first.
The early-access list
Your email address is required to join the list. You may optionally choose iPhone beta testing or public-launch updates, select iPhone, Android or both, and share how many guinea pigs live with you. The page may also store the signup location, offer version and limited campaign parameters supplied in the link. Giacomo Bottaro, the independent creator of Rufe, uses these details for invitations, important launch updates and to understand which homes and platforms to support first. The list is stored using Cloudflare infrastructure; it is not sold or used for unrelated advertising.
Retention and requests
Local app records remain on your device until you edit or remove them, clear Rufe's local data or uninstall the app. Early-access details are kept while the list is active or until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. For questions, or to access, correct or delete early-access information, write to hello@rufeclub.com.
